For the LGBTQ+ Community, the risk of struggling with mental health is higher.
But you are not alone. At Cardiff, you have an abundance of support available to you. This week we will be going all over campus to raise awareness for mental health in the LGBT+ Community.
Upcoming Events
LGBTQ+ Support at Cardiff:
Student Support:
The Student Support team is based in the Centre for Student Life on Park Place. All services can be contacted via Student Connect (available on the intranet, or by emailing studentconnect@cardiff.ac.uk). You can also visit the advice bar on the bottom floor of the CSL to speak to a Student Connect operator, who can help to direct your query to the right department. Through Student Connect, you can contact the University's Counselling and Wellbeing team, who offer a range of support services from 1-2-1 appointments to self help resources, as well as the Disability and Dyslexia team and International Student Support.
The Support Centre for Heath Students is at Cardigan House on the Heath Park Campus. .
Student Advice:
Based on the 3rd floor of the Students’ Union, their advisers offer confidential and impartial advice that is independent and separate from the University, and are able to guide you on a variety of different issues, ranging from protecting your mental health to housing and academic concerns. Drop in sessions run on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays 1-3pm for new clients only. You can also email advice@cardiff.ac.uk or call 02920 781410 to speak to a member of the team, who can allocate your case to an adviser. If you already have a case with an adviser, you can email them or the Advice email address to get in touch. ;
