The business to be transacted at the AGM includes:

Ratification of minutes of the previous meeting

Receiving the report of the Trustees on the Union’s activities since the previous meeting

Receiving the accounts of the Union for the previous financial year

Approving proposed changes to the Union's Memorandum and Articles of Association

Approving the list of affiliations of the Union

Open questions to the Trustees by the Student Members

Any motions submitted by members as well as lapsing policies from previous years.

All students are invited to submit motions to the AGM. Motions should be submitted to the Union’s AGM Motion Submission Portal no later than 10am on Monday 4th November. Once submitted the motions will be reviewed to ensure they are within the powers of AGM.

Anyone wishing to submit a motion proposal to AGM should read the attached Motion Submission Guidance and Procedure Document. This document is an extension of this Notice of Poll and explains in detail the rules regarding motions submitted to AGM.

From 10am on Tuesday 12th November to 4pm on Thursday 14th November students will have the opportunity to vote on which of the submitted motions they would like to see debated at this years’ AGM. The top four motions will then be selected for debate at the AGM. Any other submitted motions which receive more than 25 votes will then be considered by Student Senate where it is within their powers to do so.

Policies expire after 3 years of their original approval date. Previous policies passed by AGM that are due to expire include:

If you would like this policy to remain in effect, they will need to be re-submitted in the same fashion as new motions (highlighted above).

Members also have the opportunity to ask questions to the trustees, represented by the Sabbatical Officers. These questions can be submitted in advance via this typeform or asked on the night. Please note that due to the time available not all submitted questions may be answered at the AGM.
