Event Information
What it involves:
You will be shooting prone (lying down) at a distance of 25 yards, at paper targets, with the aim being to score as highly as possible out of 100.
Our expert coaches (inc. former Wales national squad coach) will guide you through the entire process, including range safety, how to operate a smallbore rifle, and how to score highly. You will spend approximately two hours at the range, where you will get the chance to meet existing club members, learn more about our sport and try your hand at shooting!
The day will be divided as follows (morning / afternoon):
9.30 / 12.30 transport leaves Cardiff
10.00 / 13.00 arrive at Penarth, start safety brief
10.30 / 13.30 detail
10.50 / 13.50 detail
11.10 / 14.10 detail
11.30 / 14.30 detail
11.50 / 14.50 debrief
12:00 / 15.00 transport leaves Penarth
12:30 / 15.30 arrive back at Cardiff
Transport:
We use external facilities at Penarth Rifle Club and transport will be provided leaving from outside the Students' Union building in Cardiff.
If you decide to make your own way to the range, please email rifle@cardiff.ac.uk to let us know when purchasing your ticket.

If this sounds like something you'd be interested in, that's great! The 15th February is the day which we have specifically reserved for the Term 2 Give It a Go - but if you can't make this date, it may be worth getting in touch as we are often able to run ad hoc beginner sessions.
Session Cost
Tickets are £15. This includes transport and twenty rounds of live ammunition. If you enjoy the Give it a Go and take out a termly membership (£30) afterwards, we will give you your money back!
