Childrens Play are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help at Children's Play Services play schemes. The service operates the following schemes and is always looking for volunteers to support children & young people in their play environment. The following schemes are available to volunteer at: • After School open access play schemes. • Open access holiday play schemes. • Closed access holiday play schemes, for children with disabilities. • Saturday project, for children with disabilities and their families. Volunteers will be able to get involved with play activities, create activities and support the play team to ensure the play sessions are fun, friendly and challenging. If you have a particular skill to bring along from sport, games, or something creative, however no experience is necessary. You will receive an induction on your first session, child protection on-line course before starting and will be working with an experienced team of play workers. Volunteers will have access to any relevant training, play schemes are lots of fun and a great way to interact with children and the community.

If you like working with people this is for you! Objective(s) of role ? To reduce isolation of local older people by making home visits with the lead artist for the Home Stories project. ? To link with the Crafty Cuppa and other Artis Community activities as appropriate to facilitate older people accessing activities outside of their home. Tasks and Activities ? Make links with external organisations to promote Home Stories and identity possible referral opportunities. ? To support the Home Stories Project by visiting isolated older people in and around Pontypridd with the lead artist. ? To talk to older people and help to identify an object that will bring memories to life and encourage talk about past experiences. ? To accompany new attendees to the Crafty Cuppa sessions as necessary. ? Work closely with Artis Community team and the lead artist. ? Work within agreed parameters of confidentiality Skills and Experience Needed ? Experience of working with older people and specifically making home visits. ? Objective(s) of role • To ensure that children and young adults are provided with supervision and assistance while at an event • To ensure children and young adults are kept safe and are looked after until returned to parents or guardians Tasks and Activities • Oversee assigned children and young adults during travelling to performance event • Monitor and be aware where assigned children and young people are at all times at events and ensure they do not engage in any negative activities • Be responsible for keeping a register • Work within agreed parameters of confidentiality • Gather children at the end of each event, do a head count, and ensure that they are safely transported to their parents or guardians. • Work closely with Artis Community team by providing feedback on behaviour issues. • Work within agreed parameters of confidentiality Skills and Experience Needed • Experience of working with/caring for young people • Ability to get along with children and young adults, while maintaining supervisory authority. • Positive attitude and patient manner. • The following key skills are also needed: Reliable, trustworthy and responsible
