WELCOME TO CARDIFF UNIVERSITY DANCESPORT CLUB!
Cardiff University Dancesport Club is the only society at Cardiff University to offer lessons in Ballroom, Latin and Salsa dancing for all abilities!
We are dedicated to creating a super friendly atmosphere, where each and every dancer feels they can be themselves and have a familiar face to rely on. Our excellent teachers and coaches provide high quality lessons open to all Cardiff students, from complete beginners all the way up to advanced dancers.
We have a highly successful competitive team that competes around the UK on the university circuit. Whether you are a beginner or a seasoned pro, everyone is welcome to compete with Dancesport. Our coaches are Sean Perry, Ella Perry, Gustav Skovbon (Ballroom and Latin) and Andy Witt (Salsa and Bachata). Sean, Ella and Gustav belong to Shappelles dance studio in Ystrad Mynach, a nationally recognised studio with formation teams hosting 29 British Formation Team Titles over the past 25 years. Andy is a well-recognised figure in the Cardiff Salsa scene, known for bringing his love and enthusiasm for the sport wherever he goes.
Ballroom and Latin classes are held on Thursdays 7:30pm until 9.30pm and on Saturdays 10am until 1pm. Salsa classes are held on Tuesdays 8.30-9.30pm. Classes are split into Beginner, Novice and Open Step. Open Step includes all levels pre-intermediate and above. We have practice spaces available throughout the week. We also host weekly socials, including both alcohlic and non-alcoholic events!
