Who are we? 

Interested in learning rockets, Arduino Projects, Drones, Battlebots or RC Aircraft, Bioreactors? That’s what we do.  We’re open to anybody regardless of experience or background. We are always open to new projects and suggestions so bring your best ideas.

What do we do? 

We make stuff!! Our main projects this year include Battlebots, Rockets and Drones but if you have your own ideas, then we have the facilities to help you out too!  

We have access to the University Maker Hub and their equipment like 3D printers, laser cutters and milling machines and experienced technicians. 

Are you interested? 

Just turn up! Our meetings run every Wednesday from 13:00-16:30 in our new dedicated room! Which is C3:08 in the Queens buildings :)
(Our old room was the main electronic lab in the East Queens Building E1.13/14 - the one with all the computers and oscilloscopes.) 

Membership is only £10 per person, as this will give us enough funding to make sure that the society can run smoothly, and we can run interesting projects.

We are also running a give it a go sessions this year on Battlebots, which is a perfect opportunity to meet our members and see what tecsoc is all about!  More details on these and links to sign up can be found in our discord server.

There are also Drone flying events with Rocket launches and Battlebot competitions planned for the year.

Membership fees are not refundable. In the case that a paid event is cancelled you will be contacted and refunds will be processed within a resonable timeframe.

Membership

In order to process and activate your membership, your name and email will need to be made available to the Students' Union and committee members of the groups you wish to join. Your details will be used to effectively manage your membership and communicate with you regarding events, activities and relevant information. A record of your membership will be retained after your membership has lapsed for the purposes of alumni management. Should you wish to have your details removed, please contact the Students' Union at  StudentsUnion@cardiff.ac.uk
