Cardiff University Brass Band Society was formed over 15 years ago as a welcoming space for brass and percussion players to socialise and make great music together. If you play any brass or percussion instrument, we’d love to hear from you, whether you have played recently or a long time ago! We are non-auditioned and welcome players from many courses and from outside Cardiff University.
The band performs in Cardiff regularly and sometimes further afield, with a main concert each semester and many other events such as Students Union Showcases, Cardiff Half Marathon and busking. The band has also competed several times in UniBrass, taking them all over the UK to play. This year, we have many exciting events planned including a weekend away to play at Wells Cathedral, an end-of-year European tour and most excitingly, hosting UniBrass in Cardiff for the first time!
One of the contest adjudicators’ comments from UniBrass years ago sums up the band's ethos perfectly: “What was most enjoyable for me here was your spirit and clear enjoyment of what you were all doing."
