The David Nott Foundation is the only charity surgically training doctors to better treat patients and save more lives in war zones around the world.
Their team of war surgery trainers deliver a 5-day course that covers every field of trauma surgery, including orthopaedics, cardiothoracic, vascular, paediatrics, plastics and obstetrics. They have trained over 1,200 doctors over 41 courses in conflicted countries such as Yemen Iraq, Syria, Somaliland, South Sudan and Ukraine and their Founder Professor David Nott featured on the cover of TIME magazine as a key figure in the international support for Ukraine.
The goal of the society is to spread awareness about the charity and their work around the world, and where possible, raise money for their missions. Through this, we want to create a community at the university that is passionate about humanitarian action and supports the ethos of the David Nott foundation.
