Cardiff Arbitration Society

Arbitration is a legal procedure in which a dispute is sent to one or more arbitrators who provide a binding decision on the case with the parties' consent. Rather than going to court, the parties choose arbitration as a private dispute resolution procedure.

The aim of this society is to provide students with the opportunity to network with industry professionals, gain knowledge and skills in an area of law that is not taught as a module at the university, and obtain free membership from a global organisation, the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb), all of which would increase students' employability after graduation.

Although the arbitration market is rapidly growing, there is a gap because it is dominated by older people and few young people, thus being a part of this society is an excellent opportunity for ambitious students wishing to get into their chosen field of work.
